Ms. Benson has successfully practiced law for over two decades and is co-founder of the Law Offices of SquiresBenson, P.L. Her business experience resulting from a banking career prior to becoming an attorney enhances her law practice. She began her career as a management associate with one of the largest banks in the State of Florida. She was trained as an installment and residential loan officer, and then as a commercial credit analyst, ultimately becoming a commercial lender.
In the early phase of practice as an attorney, she was involved in significant work representing the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) and the Resolution Trust Corporation (RTC) in banking matters. Recognizing the value of community service, she also started and served as the executive director of a local community development corporation. Accordingly, her career has evolved from various perspectives, including the private sector and government.

She serves as a Special Master, a quasi-judicial hearing officer, for code enforcement matters for the City of Miami Gardens. She is the former General Counsel and former member of the Board of Directors of the Miramar Pembroke Pines Regional Chamber of Commerce. She is also a member of the Board of Directors of MCCJ (formerly the Miami Coalition of Christians and Jews).
Born and raised in Colón, Republic of Panamá, Ms. Benson attended and substantially completed her "Bachiller en Ciencias y Letras," at Colegio San Jose La Salle. She completed the last six months of her secondary education in Florida.
